Quick and easy snacks, pastries and meals. Nice to be able to stop in on the way to work for a fresh made cappuccino takeaway! Blue Moon Cafe certainly doesn't look like much from outside but is still a great spot to meet up with friends or just enjoy a nice cup of Joe! Since Lusaka was experiencing one of those superbly hot afternoons, I decided an Iced Mocha Coffee was in order.

But, as with most coffee hot or cold , it required an accompaniment, so I opted for the chocolate brownie. But before I mention how the coffee and the brownie was, I thought I would mention a bit of a frustration first. I understand that flies are a problem in Lusaka and especially during the summer, they are even more prevalent. But honestly, nothing annoys me more than having to shoe them away constantly.

No they were not only outside, but also inside the shop and inside the very open kitchen. Although the food being prepared looked great, I still couldn't help but wonder about those flies. Ok, back to the coffee and the brownie. Now usually I would expect my iced coffee to be served over blended ice, but the cubes still did trick.

It tasted great and it was really nice to be able to almost blend the coffee in whilst drinking. The brownie was close to the best I've had. Wow, now that was the surprise to me! I will definitely visit Blue Moon again, not only because I love the American type of coffee shop, but because I enjoyed my coffee and my brownie.

Certainly the place to head if you're in the mood for a filled bagel or catching up with a friend over some coffee. I just hope they can do something about those flies! Own or manage this property?
