The recipes are very unique, seem easy to prepare and feature one of my favorite condiments. The "cock sauce cashew cheeze" spread was delicious. I brought it to a non-vegan for an appetizer and he claimed "this is one of the better things you've ever made".

At the end is a neat measurement charts, including oven temperatures. The recipes section starts with a recipe for making your own home-made Sriracha, in case you want to try. The rest are devided as: 1. Breakfasts, 5. Main Dishes, and 6. There were plenty of appealing recipes, and I think at least half of the recipes could be listed immediately as so, even with my picky taste. No point listing since the recipes are so few, but they still have nice variety within them. The author introduces each recipe with enthusiasm, and mentions if the recipes was inspired by some person, a book, or a certain eating place.
This is a brief-read, but inspiring book, and some parts of the recipes could be used in other recipes outside the book, which makes it even more worth having. Some of the recipes looked okay but some of them, after thinking about it, were just not that appealing. I may someday get out the sriracha love that stuff! Sep 05, Yodamom rated it liked it. I have it everyday on something. When I saw there was a Sriracha Cookbook for veggie lovers I preordered it right away. I opened my book and was disappointed by how small it was. How could a flavor as useable as this have such a small book? I opened it to find beautiful pictures of mouthwatering dishes, each giving my taste buds a little happy dance about what was to come.
First recipe I had to try, Hollandaise with Sriracha for my veggie Benedict. Holy spicy loving momma that was so good! But it didn't make enough double or triple that recipe. I have made most of the recipes in the book the above is by far my favorite. Most are adaptations of recipes common to most with just some added Sriracha, not very original for the long time user of this product.
I am glad i bought it, the pictures are inspirational and mouth watering.

I can't help but compare this to the " Things to Do With Jul 09, Stephen rated it liked it. Most cookbooks organized around a single ingredient contain a few good recipes and a lot of others that are just silly. The questions "I wonder how go-ju-jang would go on Cheerios" and "Do you think maple syrup would add anything to broccolini?
Randy Clemens' book on Sriracha an Asian spicy red chili sauce which comes in a distinctive plastic squeeze bottle is an exception.
There are several things about Sriracha which are interesting. One is that that it is found on Most cookbooks organized around a single ingredient contain a few good recipes and a lot of others that are just silly. One is that that it is found on the tables of Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and other Asian restaurants. Such ubiquity is rare in Asian cuisine. Another is that it has become widely popular in the United States and has "crossed over" into distinctly Western dishes such as cornbread, hamburgers, macaroni and cheese, chili con carne and buffalo wings.
This is one of those few one-ingredient cookbooks which contain sufficient good suggestions to justify its place in the home cook's library. View 1 comment. I made the canned green beans a month ago and opened a can this week yes, I waited to post to see if the recipe was any good -- they were fantastic! Having been a fan of Rooster Sauce as we call it because of the rooster on the label for years, all I can say it hooray for its novel perspective on cooking!
Now I have more reasons than ever to enjoy it. A daring, darling little cookbook. Very imagniative. Great cookbook. Awesome pictures always a plus for me in a cookbook. Creative and extremely tasty recipes. A nice history of the product and some nice cooking tips. I have a high spice tolerance and most of the recipes are a good and challenging level of heat for me, but absolutely burst through other peoples' tolerance levels some recipes call for more than a half a cup of the Rooster Sauce for very few servings.

I can't really give this more or less than 2 stars, as while I've read all the wordy bits and browsed the recipes, I've made none of them and probably won't, since this book is very meat and dairy centric. Or you may be inspired to squirt sriracha sauce directly into your mouth.

Might have to purchase this one This book really answers the question "What else can I use this sauce for besides breakfast burritos and cold pizza". Sriracha is a tangy, spicy, hot sauce that is used in Asian cooking. The Rooster brand comes in a handy squeeze bottle. I reccomend this book and sauce if you like spicier foods. I love Rooster sauce and found so many awesome recipes to try from this book. There are also recipes for cocktails, which was surprising, because I never would have imagined you could use Sriracha sauce that way. Feb 02, Sarah Lewis rated it liked it.
