Oct 16, Andrew Fear rated it it was amazing. I enjoyed this enormously. A very colourful character with lots of interesting asides on all sorts of people both here and abroad. Lots on George Best and his antics. There isn't much on the technicalities of the corrida, but there is plenty of colour and a prose style which isn't deathless but comes over as honest. Nov 29, Alex rated it did not like it. This guy is so full of himself, it's breathtaking.

BBC - Today - The last British bullfighter

Those interested in bullfighting be warned - there is a long and boring section in the middle that has naught to do with bulls, and features the author going on and on about George Best's shambolic behaviour, and about boxing. Even the bits about bulls lack meaningful explanation of, or insight into, the world of the Spanish corrida, and focus more on how wonderfully Frank thought he fought, and how many ears he cut, in the most inconsequential This guy is so full of himself, it's breathtaking.

A whole world apart from Salford, this butcher's son takes his born profession to Spain where he puts his life into becoming the impossible: the last British bullfighter. Excellent, whatever your view of bullfighting as it is a tale about living your dream, whatever it is. Jul 31, Leah Lopez added it. I found this book easy to get in to, and in most parts very amusing and uplifting.

However, half way through the book it became more about the life of George Best than him. I failed to read the full book as it lost its storyline and interest.
