With several illustrations throughout. This is the second edition, issued the same year as the first edition. This was Fanny Fern's first book and became an instant bestseller. Fanny Fern is a pseudonym for Sara Payson Willis. Willis was an American newspaper columnist, humorist, novelist and children's author.
Condition: In original full cloth binding with gilt stamping to spine and front board. Externally, sound with slight rubbing to the head and tail of spine. Loss to cloth at rear joint and to the head and tail of spine. Boards have faded with a few handling marks. Front hinge is tender. Rear hinge has failed causing backstrip to lift at rear.
